Q: What is the total cost?
A: All of our Design Theme sites cost $795 (Regularly $995. We've lowered our price to introduce our service). There is a monthly charge of $20 that covers your web hosting, email service, webmail service, content management system and technical support via email or toll-free phone.
Q: What is the difference in DIY Church Sites and WordPress?
A: Our sites offer more variety than the typical WordPress template. You also don't have the hassle of finding and installing plug-ins that accomplish what a successful church site needs. DIY Church Sites also come with technical support, so help is just a phone call or email away.
Q: How easy is it to change the look of a DIY Church Site?
A: All of our themes are built with a strong CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) back-end that make it very easy to change overall colors, backgrounds, etc.
Q: How easy are DIY Church SItes to update?
A: We think we have one of the easiest systems available. Many companies claim their CMS is easy to use, but most have a steep learning curve. Our system is almost as easy as typing and sending an email. Upload rotating images, audio, video, images and more. View the demo and see for yourself.
Q: Do you offer any special programming or custom sites?
A: We can offer some customization of our Design Themes. If you're interested in a totally custom, one-of-a-kind website, contact our parent company, Mustard Seed Studio.
Q: What are your payment arrangements?
A: We accept Visa, MasterCard and checks. Payment is due when you order your Design Theme. In most cases, your site is ready to add content within 3-5 days.
Q: What is included in a DIY Church Site?
A: We offer a variety of modules. You can pick and choose as many as you like. Modules include: Sermon player with audio and/or video, interactive calendar, Invite a Friend e-vites, password protected member area, email (50 accounts), webmail (check email from the web), rotating slideshow, google site search, and enewsletters. Your site will also include web hosting. We're constantly evaluating and developing new modules. Standard modules are always added at no additional cost.
Q: Am I locked into a long-term contract?
A: No. Once you've paid for your Design Theme, you are on a month-to-month hosting contract. You can cancel your service at any time with no penalty. As long as your site is active, you will be required to host with us.
Q: How do I know DIY Church Sites is a stable company?
A: Our parent company (Mustard Seed Studio) has been helping churches since 1998—it's our calling and our passion! We are a privately owned company based in Houston, Texas.
Q: Can I keep my current domain name?
A: Yes. We can redirect your current domain name to the new web files on our server. If you don't have a domain name, we can help you with the registration process.
Q: Will I have FTP access to the web files?
A: Yes, you are provided FTP access as well as access with our Content Management System.
Q: What type of training do you offer?
A: We offer online help videos and documentation on web pages. If you get in a bind, we are only a phone call or email away.
